The Lewisham squad who took part in the London Youth Games
THE gymnasts of Lewisham Borough returned from the recent London Youth Games with a collection of medals.
There were silver medals in the women's artistic and girls' floor & vault finals with a host of impressive individual results as well.
A sweep of gold (Quynh Trinh), silver (Jade Hayward) and bronze (Antonia Patterson) was achieved in the floor apparatus element of the girls' floor & vault.
Simone Ming won bronze in the overall individual women's artistic event, while Hayward took bronze in the vault element of the competition.
The weekend preceding the London Youth Games saw gymnasts from Ladywell Gymnastics Club take part in the London individual regional championships at Heathrow Gymnastics Club.
Ophelie Zahui won gold in the 11-years age group, Rhyanna Banton collected silver in the 12-years group, Gemma Simmons landed gold in the 13-years group and Bryony Gill claimed silver in the 15-years group.
